Editor-in-Chief of Diplomaatia
Erkki Bahovski has been with the International Centre for Defence and Security since 1 November 2014.
Bahovski started his career in journalism at Postimees daily in 1995, serving as head of the foreign news desk, editor of Tartu Postimees and opinion page editor. From 2008, he took a position as media adviser at the representation of the European Commission in Estonia. He had a short stint at the Estonian Foreign Policy Institute in 2012, following which he returned to the EC representation as information adviser.
Bahovski has also been active as a radio host, moderating the “Pressiklubi” programme on Kuku Radio and taking part in the Estonian Public Broadcasting programme “Rahva Teenrid” (Servants of the People). In 2009, Postimees conferred the title of opinion leader on him.
Bahovski has a degree in history from the University of Tartu, and has also studied at the Estonian Humanitarian Institute (now part of Tallinn University), the University of Groningen and the University of Oxford.
